In 2022, we interviewed 30 artists globally who were earning between US$60,000 - $250,000 per annum from their art. We then surveyed over 300 artists on the factors for success as an artist in the current economy. We also performed a review of the existing knowledge on how to succeed as an artist (including academic literature, books and online courses).
In March 2023, we ran a Beta Test (an initial test to make sure it works) of The Full Time Artist Formula course, which delivered positive results for all students that took action on the course material.
In 2024, we will be conducting further interviews with professional artists globally to provide any new insights into the course material.

This module will help you to define what your unique offer is to your Ideal Art Buyer. We will dive into who you are and why your art is what your buyers will love.
You will create or update your artist bio, social profiles and website in this step.
This is important because it will help you communicate how amazing you are.
STEP 2
DISCOVER YOUR IDEAL ART BUYER
This is a slightly longer module because it is so important to get right. Art buyers are your key to reliable sales. This module explains what an art buyer is, the types of buyers, and – this is the gold - get ready for a deep dive into the psychological motivations of art buyers. You will also learn how to research your market, find your niche, create your customer persona and locate your Ideal Art Buyer.
Submit your Ideal Art Buyer for feedback and check you are on the right track.
This step will help you focus your efforts on the people who will love buying your art.
STEP 3
KICKSTART YOUR EMAIL LIST
Your email list is your most important marketing and sales asset (that’s right, your biggest asset isn’t Instagram!). It is what really successful artists use to get reliable sales.
This step will help you create an email list of your Ideal Art Buyers. After this module, you'll know how to start and keep growing your email list.
STEP 4
MARKETING YOUR ART
In this module we take you through the best methods to channel your Ideal Art Buyer into your email list.
You will learn how to craft your content the right way and focus your marketing efforts on achieving sales.
This is important because we want to use marketing practices that actually lead to sales, and don't waste our time.
STEP 5
PRICING YOUR ART
We walk you through an easy way to price your art, that includes benchmarking yourself against other artists selling in your market. You will know how to account for the real costs of creating and selling your art, and price the right way for your art practice.
Getting your pricing right is important to making a reliable income and feeling confident in going full-time as an artist.

STEP 6
BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS
This is how you can grow your art career faster. In this module, you will learn the types of businesses that are great for artists to partner with. You will also learn how to tell if they are a good fit for you to work with. You will also learn how to get the most out of exhibiting through galleries and online marketplaces (plus the traps to avoid so you actually get sales!).
STEP 7
YOUR FULL TIME ARTIST FORMULA
This exciting final module takes you through designing your vision as an artist. You will then learn how plan the exact steps to achieve the career that is right for you, including your goal income.

I'm an artist and entrepreneur. And like you, I have definitely walked in paint covered shoes, discovering the path to success as an artist.
After feeling frustrated for so many years, I successfully grew from a part-time art practice with another job for my real income, to being a full-time professional artist. To achieve this result, I didn't just guess. Instead, I conducted a global research project into how to have a successful art career. I wanted to learn from real artists with careers I dreamed of. What I found out was amazing. This course is based on that research. I can't wait to share the knowledge with you, and help you create a thriving art career that you absolutely love!
Curious about my qualifications? I went to art school first, then graduated with a Bachelors degree in Art History and Romance Languages. I was selling my art, but couldn't rely on the income. Then, I went on to do my Master of Business Administration, finishing it with an exchange in the Champagne region of France. I worked in London and studied Masters level drawing and ceramics of an evening at the Chelsea School of Arts. Then, I did some executive education at Cambridge. After that, I founded a couple of companies, including my art business. In 2020, I started my PhD and in 2021 I did the Global Art Success Study. In 2023, I started Creatr. The Full Time Artist Formula is our first course developed from the research.
